Reva Mae Smith, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away of natural causes, June 19, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.\nShe was born in Angola on January 16, 1942, to the late Willard and Ina Mae (Barker) Muncie.\nReva was married to James J. Smith on July 20, 1957. \nShe worked at Byron Health Center for over 20 years.\n\nReva was an amazing supportive wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Camping and fishing was something she liked to do in her earlier years. She always had a passion for gardening and especially took pride in her flowers. Cooking was something she taught all of us and something we all will remember her by. (Fried chicken was the best!) A few things the grandchildren and great-grandchildren always did: use her chapstick, vicks save, and drink her ice water! There was always coffee made for whoever might stop by. Her favorite foods were crab legs and mushrooms. She always enjoyed "going for a ride." While her husband Jim worked many many years to support the family, as did Reva, she was always there to make sure dinner was made, housework was taken care of, and kids kept in line. She was the oldest of 6 siblings and mothered all but especially the youngest three. She touched more lives than she probably knew. Reva was sweet, loving, and caring but was not afraid to tell you what she thought. And if need be she would "slap those legs!" She was our rock. Although she will be missed beyond understanding, having had the opportunity to know Reva is a true blessing.\n \nShe is survived by her husband of 64 years, James Smith; two sons, Todd (Sherri) Smith and Scott (Dorsey Kane) Smith; two brothers, Mike (Dee) Muncie and Eddy (Kim) Muncie; two sisters, Karen (Jack) Kirkpatrick and Linda (Dennis) Gordon; ten grandchildren, Little Randy, Bryte (Tim) Cleveland, Gavin Smith, Drew Lebrecht, Amelia (Mike) Barilla, Josh Smith, Brandan (Chelsey) Smith, BriAnn (Nick) Nave, Teri (Kenny) Oliver and Nick (Chelsea) Crim; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kyrah, Alexsys, Logan, Blake, Chelsea, Hunter, Zelda, Lynden, Kadyn, Leelan, Karalynn, Kennadi, Payton and Sawyer.\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Randy Smith in 2012 and Sandy Smith in 2014; a sister, Ann Bunch; a brother, Bill Muncie.\nServices will take place at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Huntertown Chapel 16830 Lima Road Huntertown, IN 46748, on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., with calling two hours prior.\nMemorials to the family. \nOnline Guestbook or leave a personal note to the family at www.sheetsandchilds.com.
