Maxine L. Potter, 95, of Huntertown, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020, at her home.\n\nBorn in Hicksville, OH, on May 6, 1924, to the late Fred and Florence (Carver) Wonderly. She spent her formative years in Mark Center, graduating from Mark Center High School.\n\nMaxine was married to Walter Potter in Huntertown, on December 20, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1993.\n\nShe worked in group accounting for Lincoln Life for over 31 years. She also worked at the Huntertown United Methodist Church for over 20 years as the Financial Officer, retiring at the age of 90.\nShe was an avid sports fan and enjoyed Carroll High School Athletics. She was a big supporter of Walters Racing.\n\nMaxine is survived by a daughter, Diane (Timm) Bilger; two sons, James Potter and Gary Potter; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.\n\nIn addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Claron Wonderly; two sisters, Phyllis Burd and Lucille Osmun.\n\nA private family service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be live streamed as an event on the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home Facebook page.\n\nThe family will have a public celebration at a later time.\n\nBurial taking place at Huntertown Cemetery, Huntertown.\n\nIn Lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Carroll High School Athletics, Heartland Hospice or Huntertown Fire Department.\n\nOnline note to the family at www.sheetsandchilds.com.
