Martha Ann Egolf, 85, a resident of Churubusco, passed away at 2:48 p.m. on December 11, 2017 in Fort Wayne.\nBorn on April 22, 1932 in Whitley County, a daughter of Abraham and Ruth (Beavers) Nestel. She spent her formative years in Churubusco and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1950.\nShe was married on October 1, 1950 to Russell J. Egolf in Churubusco. The couple moved to their farm in Green Township. Russell preceded her in death on December 13, 2008.\nMartha worked at Dana Corporation, Churubusco as well as helping with the family farm. She was a member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church and served as the church organist for 25 years including years at the former EUB church. She enjoyed her time dancing in the former Boots 'n Bonnets Square Dancing Club. She wintered in Apache Junction, Az where she was active in activities at the Golden Vist Park.\nMartha is survived by four children, Jann (David) Johnson, Mel (Susie) Egolf, Ned (Cathy) Egolf all of Churubusco and Brian (Judy) Egolf of Albion; two sisters-in-law, Janet Nestel and Connie Nestel Teghtmeyer; 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.\nIn addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Roger and Dale Nestel.\nVisiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, calling also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.\nServices will begin at 10:00 AM, at Churubusco United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 16, 2017.\nBurial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery.\nIn lieu of flowers please make memorials to Churubusco United Methodist Church Food Panty or the Churubusco Youth Foundation (Oscar's Playground).\nOnline condolences to the family at www.sheetsandchilds.com.
