Luraine Y Boggs, 89, of Churubusco, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019, at North Ridge Village in Albion.\n\nBorn in Breathitt County, KY, on January 9, 1930, to the late Harrison and Omega (Miller) Combs. She spent her formative years in Noble County. She graduated from beauty college in Fort Wayne.\nShe operated Luraine's Beauty Salon for more than 19 years. Prior to that, she worked for Essex Wire in Fort Wayne for more than six years. She retired from The Charmaran Corp., in Kendallville after five years.\n\nLuraine was married to Garold "Gene" Boggs on October 2, 1993. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2017.\nLater in life, she enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, bird watching and baking.\nLuraine is survived by her daughter, Vickie Gerdon; two sons, Patrick (Susan Collins) McNeal and Jeffrey (Linda) McNeal; 11 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.\n\nShe is preceded in death by her parents and husband; her son, Michael A. McNeal; three brothers, Harrison Combs, Bernie Combs and Carlo Combs; two sisters, Dulcenia McCann and Peggy Havaland; a half-brother, George Burcham.\n\nServices will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at 3:00 PM, with calling starting at 1:00 PM.\n\nBurial taking place at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.\n\nIn Lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Heartland Hospice.\n\nOnline Guestbook or leave a personal note to the family at www.sheetsandchilds.com.
