Juanita L. (Rose) Evans Obituary (1930 - 2020)

Juanita L. Evans, 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2020. She passed away at Miller's @ Oak Pointe in Columbia City. Juanita was born in Campton, KY, to the late George L. and Rilda F. (Russell) Rose on November 18, 1930. She graduated from Talma High School in 1948 and married Gerald C. Evans on April 9, 1950, in Rochester, IN. They resided in Fort Wayne for most of their 70 years of marriage and were blessed with 2 sons, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She will be much missed by her family. Juanita enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for the holidays. She also enjoyed horse shows and county fairs, cheering for her sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as they performed. She retired as a cook from Fort Wayne Community Schools in 1990 and was a member of the homemaker's Club. She was also a member at Huntertown United Methodist Church. Juanita is survived by husband, Gerald C. Evans; 2 sons, Steven C. Evans & Dale A. (Linda) Evans; 8 grandchildren, Andy (Angie) Evans, Jeremy Evans, Clayton (Cayla) Evans, Cassi (Mathew) Gest, Christopher Evans, Courtney McClure, Caylee Evans, & Calvin Evans; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Services will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco. The service will be live-streamed as an event on the Sheets and Childs Funeral Home Facebook page. Visitation will be Saturday from noon-2:00 at the funeral home.
