John C. Logan, 57, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at Lutheran Hospital.\n\nBorn in Gary, IN, on February 10, 1963, to the late Lester and Florence (Hosea) Logan. He spent his formative years in Gary, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1981.\nAfter high school, John served in the United States Coast Guard from 1981 to 1985.\n\nJohn was married to LaTonya Smith. She preceded him in death, in November 1991.\n\nHe worked at Don Hall's Gas House for 21 years. John was an avid Chicago Sports fan including the Bears, Bulls, Cubs and Blackhawks. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.\n\nJohn is survived by his special life partner, Sara Hughes; six children, Deandre Smith, Nykkya Smith, Tiara (Corey) Kincade-Nash, Alyssa Logan, Jone` Logan and Tyrsen Logan; his siblings, Willie Logan, Lester Logan, Christopher (Tiffany) Logan, Helen Evans, Venessa Jones, Linda (Steven) Harris, Olivia (James) Williams and Beulah Rogers; eight grandchildren; many aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sisters, Catherine Brown and Ann Pruitt.\n\nA private family service will be held on April 13, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. The service will be live-streamed in an event page on the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home Facebook page.\n\nThe family will have a public celebration at a later time.\n\nMemorials to the Kidney Foundation.\n\nOnline note to the family at www.sheetsandchilds.com.
