Hilda I. (Sloffer) Shively, 102, of Churubusco, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at North Ridge Village in Albion.\nShe was born on January 25, 1918, in Allen County, to the late Milo and Bertha (Dunten) Sloffer.\nHilda was married to Paul B. "Pete" Shively on June 26, 1936, in Marion. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1997.\nShe was a member of Churubusco United Methodist Church and Ladies Circle. Hilda was an avid IU Basketball fan.\nShe is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Tom) Clouse and Shirley Taulbee; a son, Paul A. Shively; six grandchildren, David (Nicole) Taulbee, Donna (John Slusar) Taulbee, Melinda (Damon) Emgenbroich, Steven (Kimberly) Clouse, Lisa (William) Hoerger and Denise (Lance) Hamblen; nine great-grandchildren.\nIn addition to her parents and her husband, Hilda was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Price Taulbee; two brothers, John Sloffer and Robert Sloffer; three sisters, Marie Bosler, Marcella Hoyer, and her twin sister, Helen Stonestreet.\nServices will take place at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2020, at 1 p.m, with calling one hour prior to service.\nBurial will take place at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.\nTo respect the family's wishes, masks are required for all visitors.\nMemorials may be directed to Churubusco United Methodist Church or Audio Reading Service, 7615 Disalle Blvd. Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
