Frederick B. Grier, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 in Leo.\nHe was born on October 1, 1934 in Fort Wayne. He was the only son of Estel Lavon and Margaret (Hoffman) Grier. He spent his formative years in Orland and graduated from South Side high school in 1952.\nAfter high school, he served in the United States Army.\nFred was married on June 2, 1956 in Fort Wayne to Jeanette Gudakunst. She preceded him in death on August 13, 2003.\nHe was the owner of American Automatic Food Services and retired in 1991.\nFred is survived by two sons, Jeff (Shari) Grier and Thomas Grier both of New Haven; a son-in-law, Doug Shrock of Fort Wayne; a daughter-in-law, Monica Grier of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.\nIn addition to his parents and wife he was preceded by a sister, Donna Inman; his daughter, Victoria Shrock; a son, Mark Grier; a great grandson Luke James Anderson.\nVisiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on September 21, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
