Devillo "Jack" Hibbs, 89, of Churubusco, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.\n\nHe was born in Pioneer, Ohio, on December 16, 1933, to the late Herbert and Nellie (Stafford) Hibbs. He spent his formative years in New Amsterdam.\n\nOn April 17, 1954, he was married in New Amsterdam, Indiana to Donna R. Froman. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2015.\n\nJack had worked at Rea Wire and later retired from Colwell General in January 1999. He had also spent time as a Mechanic at Meyer's Service Station in Huntertown. \n \nHis surviving relatives include his six daughters, Janet (Loyd) Flener, Jackie (Dave) Folk, Joyce (Ed) Dauscher, Julia (Cliff) Gaff, Jeni (Jim) Ice, and Cassandra (Jody) Simmons; two sons, John Hibbs and Jeff (Sandi) Hibbs; a brother, Milo Hibbs; 37 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Hibbs (June 30, 2015); a granddaughter, Maria Flener; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Freya; four brothers, Leo, Rollo, Verlo, and Orlo Hibbs.\n\nFuneral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling one hour prior to the service. \n\nThe family will also receive family and friends at the funeral home, on Monday, December 26, 2022, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.\n \nBurial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.\n \nFor those who wish, memorials may be directed to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
