Clifford C. "Cliff" Smith Obituary (1954 - 2020)

Clifford C. "Cliff" Smith, 66, of Churubusco, passed away on November 26, 2020, at his residence. Born in Columbia City, on March 7, 1954, to the late Donald R. and Margaret (Hutsell) Smith. Cliff graduated from the Police Academy in 1979. He worked at the Churubusco Police Department until he was promoted to town marshall, serving from 1982-86. Cliff was with the department for 26 years. His hobbies were riding his motorcycle, collecting guns and tractors. He is survived by the love of his life, Connie Eckert; three daughters, Heather (Matthew) Noyes, Amanda (William) Wemmer and Kortney (Jake) Daly; a son, Ryan (Alison) Eckert; eleven grandchildren, Marisa Noyes, Derek (Brytne) Noyes, Ashley, Samantha, Rachel and Zachary Skinner, Cassie, Nicolas, Ben and Emma Eckert, Luke Daly; one great-grandchild, Knox Noyes; one brother, Brian (Katrina) Smith. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Wren Noyes; four brothers, Stuart, Stan, Brad and Jerry Smith. Calling will take place at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, 206 North Main Street, Churubusco, IN, 46723, on Thursday, December 3, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A private family service will be held.
